Mr Warburton’s blog is an always-enjoyable rummage through an animator’s past, present and sometimes, future. This post delves into some personal history and how it was necessary at one point in time to use a book to learn anything about anime. It’s a great look at how far animation has come in the last 25 years or so, particularly anime and particularly how the internet has helped the proliferation of information that used to be so hard to come across.

The Simpsons’ secret formula: it’s written by maths geeks

Guardian journalist Simon Singh delves very deep into the mathematical jokes in the Simpsons. While Futurama is infamous for using math as meta humour, it’s nice to learn that the Simpsons aren’t left out in the cold either.

Best Message Board Ever

A second Simpsons link, this time from Alan Siegel at Salon who details the history of perhaps the most famous internet message board ever, alt.tv.simpsons. If you’re in any way familiar with what this board was in its heyday, this article is a fine use of a few minutes of your time.
